Pensions have seen one of the most significant examples of the application of behavioural economics with the use of auto-enrolment. EPC staff advised the Department for Work and Pensions on the design of personal accounts (now NEST) including its structure and the use of auto-enrolment. Within insurance, EPC staff have advised on income protection policies, age discrimination, and the overall regulation of general insurance. This is in addition to the significant experience of EPC with respect to distribution and financial advice in both life and general insurance products. See Distribution and Financial Advice for further details.
Recent work by EPC includes multiple reports on Income Protection policies including the most recent report for Zurich on the value of rehabilitation activities within Income Protection policies. Read more.
